About the role#
The Factory Enablement Digital Engineer role supports Advanced Operations Engineering in the development and deployment of digital tools for aerospace manufacturing. You will investigate emerging technologies, assist with pilot projects, and improve the digital capabilities of our manufacturing sites. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to prototype and deploy solutions directly to the factory floor.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and deployment of digital tools to modernize manufacturing processes.
- Research emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Prototype and deploy digital solutions, including gathering data, documenting results, and configuring tools.
- Identify workflow or data challenges and propose practical digital enhancements.
- Create standardized documentation and templates to assist with scaling new technologies.
- Collaborate with DT/IT, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, and shop-floor technicians to translate needs into digital requirements.
- Prepare clear summaries, diagrams, and presentations for non-technical audiences.
- Assist with troubleshooting digital tools and connectivity issues.
What you'll need#
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM major.
- Must be actively enrolled through the completion of the internship or co-op session.
- Experience with modern technologies including Python, Power BI, IoT systems (such as Ignition or Kepware), automation, or industrial software like MES, ERP, or PLM.
- Experience working with data, specifically cleaning, organizing, visualizing, or interpreting datasets.
- Experience in manufacturing environments and hands-on digital problem solving is preferred.
- This position requires a U.S. Person status.
