About the role#
This is a full-time Display Systems Engineering Co-op position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role runs from January through July or August 2027. You will work on-site, Monday through Friday, and it is expected that you take a semester off from coursework to focus on this work experience. This is a paid position requiring U.S. Person status.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop unique displays for commercial and military avionics.
- Work with an engineering team to support the avionics industry.
- Apply your problem-solving skills to hands-on technical challenges.
- Create or implement changes to product design and development processes.
- Gain exposure to display and optical technologies, engineering design best practices, and industry standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the co-op.
- Experience working on collaborative teams and projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read hardware schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Comfort using C++ or Python.
- Experience with optics and optical measurements.
- Familiarity with model-based engineering.
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience.
