About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will join the ARINCDirect team within the Connected Aviation Solutions unit. You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop and improve full-stack applications and backend services that support flight planning software for aircraft operations. This is a hands-on position designed to apply your academic background to real-world software engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Develop full-stack application features using Python and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Design, implement, and integrate APIs and backend services.
- Write unit and integration tests to maintain software quality and reliability.
- Create and enhance Grafana observability metrics to monitor application performance.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery processes.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners in an Agile environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in a STEM field, with at least 60 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
- Experience with Python and JavaScript or TypeScript through coursework, projects, or prior work.
- Familiarity with version control software like Github or GitLab.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
- Experience building or consuming REST APIs.
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
- Prior experience with RTX internships or co-ops is a plus.

- This internship is located on-site in Annapolis, Maryland.
- The position is for the Summer 2027 term.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
