About the role#
Raytheon Technologies is seeking Mechanical Engineering interns for the Summer 2027 term. This role supports the Air Launched and Ground Based Effectors departments. You will work on a multi-disciplined team to support the design and production of product subsystems. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Tucson, Arizona. Please note that an active and transferable U.S. government Secret security clearance is required prior to the start date, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
What you'll do#
- Support concept development, detailed design, analysis, integration, and testing.
- Assist with transition to production efforts, factory line support, and product improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis and problem resolution at labs, factories, or supplier locations.
- Collaborate with Integrated Product Team Leads and Program Managers to manage risks, budgets, and schedules.
- Ensure Technical Data Package quality according to ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Prepare technical justification reports and present findings to Engineering Review Boards.
- Conduct 3D parametric modeling and communicate technical information through presentations.
- Perform duties under the supervision of an Engineering team lead.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Ability to remain enrolled through the completion of the session.
- Experience gained through coursework, projects, research, or previous work.
- Preferred: Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Preferred: Experience with Creo modeling, drafting, and Windchill configuration management.
- Preferred: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
