About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 located in North Berwick, Maine. You will work on-site at our facility. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to program access requirements.
What you'll do#
- Work across the full Pratt & Whitney engine product line, including commercial and military hardware.
- Manage components within compressor, turbine, and bearing compartments.
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for gas turbine hardware.
- Oversee design configurations while meeting cost, weight, and producibility requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce new hardware.
- Advance current gas turbine technology and internal design methods.
- Support design reviews and follow Engineering Standard Work.
- Provide technical support for production, field investigations, and aftermarket needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced degree program for Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Proficiency with CAD software like SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360.
- Familiarity with mechanical hardware documentation and drawing standards.
- Experience with engineering analysis and manufacturing processes.
- Previous internship, co-op, or work experience at RTX is a plus.
