About the role#
As a Materials & Processes and Mechanical Disciplines Engineering Intern, you will work on engine component evaluation, materials development, and chemical process support. This role involves contributing to both commercial and military jet engine applications through analysis, testing, and technical support functions.
What you'll do#
- Perform mechanical testing and structural analysis.
- Develop structural software tools.
- Conduct materials, metallurgical, or chemical analysis.
- Evaluate inspection processes and coating properties.
- Document and analyze experimental data to draw conclusions.
- Prepare reports and presentations based on your findings and provide recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
- Interest in a technical career focused on applied materials development and characterization.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools and common materials characterization or test methods.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team.
- Prior experience through RTX internships, co-ops, or other work is preferred.
