About the role#
Process Engineer Interns join our team in Whitehall, Michigan, for a 10-14 week summer program. You will work across various plants to support engineering and manufacturing teams. This role focuses on process management, metallurgy, and driving improvements in quality and delivery performance. Throughout the summer, you will participate in structured training, including plant tours and seminars, and complete projects that provide direct value to our business. At the end of the program, you will present your findings to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering and manufacturing teams with process control and improvement initiatives.
- Focus on process management activities and metallurgy.
- Complete hands-on training and attend networking events.
- Execute projects designed to improve business outcomes.
- Present project results to leadership at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Materials Science, Metallurgical, Ceramic, or Chemical Engineering.
- Completion of at least sophomore-level coursework by May 2027.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous internship, work, or research experience is a plus.
