About the role#
This Manufacturing Engineer internship is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Whitehall, Michigan. The program runs for 10-14 weeks during the summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience through training, plant tours, and seminars. At the end of the program, you will present your work to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. We evaluate interns for potential entry-level roles upon completion.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with plant floor layout reconstruction.
- Support 5S projects and the development of standardized work.
- Complete projects that provide direct value to the business.
- Participate in structured training, lunch and learn seminars, and networking events.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution.
- You must have completed at least your sophomore year of coursework by May 2027.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD, CAD/CAM, or Solidworks is a plus.
- Relevant internship, work, or research experience is a plus.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
