About the role#
VPT, Inc. is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers hands-on experience in both research and development and manufacturing environments. You will work alongside experienced engineers on various technical tasks.
What you'll do#
- Create and modify dimension drawings for custom mechanical hardware and production fixtures.
- Prepare assembly documentation, including drawings, travelers, and procedures.
- Learn to operate and program CNC equipment such as waterjets and automated adhesive dispensers.
- Monitor lab experiments and tests, including steady state temperature measurements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Industrial and Systems Engineering.
- Recent graduates from these programs are also eligible to apply.
- You must be a US Person to qualify for this role.
Location & details#
- Location: Blacksburg, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: $18 to $30 per hour.
- Employment: This role is paid and administered through a third-party staffing agency.
