About the role#
The Numerical Methods group within the Research and Technology department works on advanced design solutions for complex aerospace problems. You will join a team applying machine learning, neural networks, and large language models to improve analytical capabilities. This role involves working across engineering disciplines to build a multidisciplinary design system.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop software solutions for aerospace challenges.
- Research and build innovative software algorithms.
- Create tests and pipelines to maximize code coverage and streamline deployment.
- Support software deployment through Agile cycles.
- Present your progress to the group during round-table discussions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Canadian university throughout the internship.
- Student status in Mechanical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with a compiled language such as C or Fortran.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Analytical experience in turbomachinery design, systems engineering, or controls software development.
- Knowledge of Python testing frameworks like pytest and revision management systems like Git or SVN.
- Functional proficiency in English to read technical instructions and communicate with international colleagues.

- Location: Longueuil, Quebec, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 5 to April 23, 2027).
- Modality: On-site, Monday to Friday with flexible hours.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
