Engineering Intern

About the role#

This is a 4-month full-time paid Engineering Internship based in Calgary, Alberta, running from May to August 2026. The role is part of the PGI Operations Governance & Performance department and operates under a hybrid work arrangement.

What you'll do#

• Support PGI’s Commercial and Business Development teams, assisting with commercial readiness for new capital assets and collaborating with Operations and service units.
• Develop and improve plant performance dashboards and reports using analytical tools including Aveva PI Vision, PI Datalink, and Microsoft Power BI.
• Assist with upstream analysis and production forecasting.
• Maintain and update engineering records, including technical data, drawings, project files, and asset maps.
• Support day-to-day engineering activities using software such as SAP, Microsoft Office, and Copilot.
• Travel to operating sites as necessary to support business and engineering functions.
• Uphold the 'Zero by Choice' safety culture, adhere to Life Saving Rules, and contribute to an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
• Complete a final learning project and presentation summarizing your contributions and experience at the end of the term.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program with a commitment to return to school in the fall following the internship.
• Preference for students who have completed at least the first year of a four-year accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the summer term.
• Demonstrated reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn in a structured environment.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, including a criminal record check.
