About the role#
Pembina Pipeline is seeking a General Labour Summer Student for a 4-month term based in the Sherwood Park area. Reporting to the Central Area Foreman, this role provides hands-on experience in a safety-focused environment with exposure to pipeline operations. You will support the team in maintaining infrastructure and daily operations while gaining practical industry knowledge.
What you'll do#
- Assist with operations activities, general maintenance, painting, and housekeeping at Pump Station and Block Valve sites.
- Perform site upkeep, including grass cutting and weed removal.
- Support daily work activities using systems such as SAP, Microsoft Office, and Copilot/ChatGPT.
- Uphold the company safety culture of Zero by Choice by following all Life Saving Rules.
- Demonstrate company values by working in a safe, trustworthy, respectful, collaborative, and entrepreneurial manner.
- Contribute to an inclusive workplace by working effectively and respectfully with others.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a field of study such as Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering, or Operations Management.
- Capability for moderate physical work.
- A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driver abstract.
- Ability to commit to the full 4-month term, from May to August 2026.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and friendly approach with strong communication skills.
- Experience or interest in the energy sector is preferred, as is proficiency with equipment such as forklifts, bobcats, or manual tools like weed trimmers.
- This is a safety-sensitive position requiring pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, including testing for marijuana metabolites, and a criminal record check.
Location & details#
- Location: Sherwood Park, Alberta.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Requirement: Must reside within 100 km of Sherwood Park.
