Cyber Security Identity Intern

About the role#

The Cyber Security Identity Intern will join the Cybersecurity Operations team within the Information Services Unit. This role focuses on maintaining data integrity, improving identity management processes, and supporting compliance initiatives. You will work alongside IT and cybersecurity professionals to streamline user access, onboarding, and offboarding activities.

What you'll do#

• Clean and improve user identity data by identifying and resolving inconsistencies across systems.
• Support automation and process improvement efforts using identity management tools.
• Contribute to cybersecurity and compliance initiatives through documentation, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Perform daily tasks and learning activities using tools such as SAP, Microsoft Office, and AI-assisted platforms.
• Actively participate in the company's 'Zero by Choice' safety culture and adhere to all Life Saving Rules.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with plans to return to school after the term.
• A basic understanding of identity and access management (IAM), cybersecurity concepts, and data or automation tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail.
• Demonstrated reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn in a structured environment.

• Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
• Term: Summer 2026 (4-month duration).
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Requirements: Candidates must live within 100 km of Calgary and be legally eligible to work in Canada. A pre-employment background check, including a criminal record check, is required.
