Application Support Student/Intern

About the role#

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking an Application Support Student for the Fall 2026 term. This role focuses on maintaining the availability and reliability of business application services. You will work within the IT division to support various lines of business, gaining practical experience in a professional environment while engaging in mentorship and job shadowing.

What you'll do#

• Support the availability and reliability of business application services.
• Contribute to projects and system changes across multiple business lines.
• Perform hands-on testing of applications.
• Participate in job shadowing and establish professional mentor relationships.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited university co-op program in Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Science, Logistics, Cybersecurity, or Computer Engineering.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with application support.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• A deep interest in technology and natural curiosity.
• Ability to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
