About the role#
This position is a full-time internship for the Fall 2026 work term at the Irving Pulp & Paper mill. Students will work directly with mill personnel and contractors to support operations and infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with contractors and mill staff to define, plan, and execute work packages.
- Develop detailed scopes of work for installations, including scan card access systems, 120V to 600V temporary power, and IT infrastructure such as wireless access points, switches, and cameras.
- Oversee the installation of low to medium voltage electrical equipment, instrumentation, and building services components while monitoring safety, quality, budget, and schedules.
- Assist Systems Engineers with the maintenance, programming, and configuration of Mill Control Systems.
- Utilize software tools including AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and document management systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program with good academic standing.
- A safety-first mindset and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A long-term interest in pursuing a career in engineering.
