    About the role#

    Pratt & Whitney is hiring an Electrical Firmware Co-op for the Winter and Spring 2027 terms. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required for this role.

    What you'll do#

    • Work with video, networking, and image processing devices to meet system requirements.
    • Develop products in accordance with DO-254 DAL A certification and participate in certification activities.
    • Handle requirements capture, decomposition, and traceability.
    • Perform ASIC/FPGA digital design and verification.
    • Write RTL code and perform simulations using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
    • Conduct ASIC/FPGA verification using inspection, analysis, simulation, and test methods.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an applicable discipline.
    • Ability to remain enrolled through the completion of the co-op session.
    • Practical experience gained through coursework, research, projects, or previous work.
    • Familiarity with Linux/Unix, scripting, C/C++, Python, or Perl is preferred.
    • Experience writing RTL or testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog is preferred.
    • Familiarity with FPGA simulation, vendor-specific tools, and revision control concepts is preferred.
    • Knowledge of best practice chip-level verification techniques, UVM, or Constrained Random Methodology is a plus.
