About the role#
We are looking for Electrical Engineering interns to join our team in San Mateo for the Winter 2027 term. You will help prototype, validate, develop, and refine the electrical systems that power our autonomous flying sensors. You will work alongside our engineering team to solve technical challenges in computing hardware, sensing, and power systems.
What you'll do#
- Take ownership of low-voltage electronic hardware development, from initial specification and schematic design to PCB layout, prototyping, and fabrication.
- Perform hands-on bring-up, assembly, and debugging of custom circuit boards.
- Develop and test PCBAs for subsystems including power distribution, battery management, sensing, motor control, and computing.
- Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, reliability, software, and electrical teams to build test and validation systems for new products.
- Participate in schematic, layout, and BOM reviews to provide feedback on internal and external designs.
- Support system integration through test execution, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A solid grasp of electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with basic lab tools like oscilloscopes and signal generators.
- Experience with scripting or programming in Python or C.
- Some experience with power electronics, digital electronics, or analog electronics.
- Previous internship work on electronic products.
- Familiarity with an EDA software suite, preferably Cadence Allegro.
- Ability to prototype solutions and circuit demonstrations quickly.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 certification within 30 days of the start date, if required.
