About the role#
Skydio is looking for a Flight Test Intern to help validate and advance our next generation of products. You will work with the flight test team to support multiple projects and gain hands-on experience with our aerial platforms. This role involves close collaboration with various internal teams to shape our technology.
What you'll do#
- Conduct smoke and regression tests to ensure system reliability.
- Perform daily testing on the master branch to maintain software quality.
- Improve the end-to-end Skydio Dock experience by identifying and resolving issues.
- Validate new software features for customer-facing applications.
- Collect flight data to support competitive benchmarking efforts.
- Verify software updates to maintain a stable flying platform.
- Execute wireless testing on new software and hardware.
- Identify and communicate product limitations to improve performance.
What you'll need#
- Background in software or hardware testing.
- Current Part 107 Certification.
- Practical experience with UAS and an understanding of their subsystems and real-world performance.
- Experience operating Linux based systems.
- Ability to debug hardware and software systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical system integration.
- Experience testing web based applications.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
