About the role#
Corning is looking for an Electrical Engineer Intern to support controls-focused engineering activities at Sullivan Park. You will work in a research and development environment, helping to design, build, test, and improve prototype equipment and electrical control systems. This role involves collaborating with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to support experimental equipment and infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Support electrical and controls engineering activities for prototype and developmental equipment.
- Assist with the design, assembly, testing, and debugging of electrical and control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and controls issues alongside technicians and engineers.
- Develop and implement improvements to equipment controls, automation, and system performance.
- Collect and analyze technical data to support engineering decisions and project execution.
- Maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, work instructions, and technical reports.
- Evaluate and select sensors, instruments, and control components for R&D applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and safe operation.
- Present findings and project updates to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Completed coursework in electrical systems, circuits, controls, instrumentation, or automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship with a biweekly pay range of $1,635.00 to $3,185.00.
