    About the role#

    This is a technical internship focused on applying scientific methods to improve manufacturing processes and design capabilities. You will work within the Environmental Technologies segment, which produces ceramic substrates and filters for emissions control. You will conduct hands-on work in laboratory, pilot, or manufacturing settings while collaborating across different organizational groups.

    What you'll do#

    • Generate hypotheses and design experiments to build fundamental process understanding.
    • Execute experiments and perform data analysis.
    • Prepare technical reports, memos, and oral presentations to update your team and leadership on project status.
    • Conduct hands-on work in laboratory or manufacturing environments.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a technical degree program with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
    • Previous laboratory experience, including college lab courses.
    • Proficiency in programming.
    • Ability to collaborate with peers and integrate solutions.
    • Flexibility to adjust to changing project demands.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Interest in pursuing full-time employment with Corning after graduation.

    • Location: Christiansburg, Virginia.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (10 weeks).
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Status: Full-time.
