About the role#
This is a summer engineering internship within the Advanced Optics division. You will support the manufacturing and engineering of high-precision optical systems. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Fairport, New York.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the optical design team.
- Model, tolerance, and analyze complex optical systems.
- See projects through from initial concept to completion.
What you'll need#
- You are a BS or MS candidate who has finished at least three years of higher education.
- Your graduation date must be December 2027 or later.
- You have completed coursework in geometrical optics, physical optics, aberration theory, and interferometry.
- You possess working knowledge of analysis tools like MATLAB, Python, or Visual Basic in Excel.
- You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- You communicate well in writing and speech.
- Experience with optical design software such as CODE V, Zemax, or LightTools is desired.
- You must be interested in potential full-time employment with the company after graduation.

- Location: Fairport, New York.
- Term: 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
