About the role#
The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities organization is seeking interns for the Summer 2027 term in Tucson, Arizona. This is an on-site position where you will participate in the systems engineering life cycle. You will work alongside subject matter experts, engineers, and customers to ensure systems are integrated and tested to meet performance requirements.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement test plans and procedures for both simulated and real-world environments.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems.
- Create and modify documentation to support design reviews and test events.
- Identify and resolve hardware and software issues through debugging and analysis.
- Conduct statistical and numerical analysis on test data to verify requirements and system performance.
- Support mission execution at various locations, including test sites and vendor facilities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Prior hands-on experience testing electronic equipment through academic projects or previous internships.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues with electronics.
- Previous internship experience at RTX.
