About the role#
The Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Intern will join a multi-discipline team to support the design and development of system simulation models. You will work within the Processing, Guidance & Control Center to create high-fidelity models that represent system components and their interactions. This role involves working in a high-performance computing environment to support missile system design, performance assessment, and testing.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop simulation models of varying fidelity.
- Read, debug, edit, and create computer programming code to enhance existing models.
- Create and execute unit tests to verify model functionality.
- Document design and test results while integrating component models into larger system simulations.
- Troubleshoot anomalies observed in simulation results.
- Analyze data to provide insights into system performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Statistics.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Academic or applied experience coding in C++.
- Academic or applied experience using MATLAB or Python for data set analysis.
- Experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis related to engineering solutions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).
- Experience gained through coursework, research, projects, or on-the-job training.
