About the role#
Irving Tissue is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op Student for an 8-month term starting in Winter 2027. This position is based in Fort Edward, New York. You will work on-site and gain exposure to manufacturing assets while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do#
- Lead projects focused on equipment reliability and uptime improvement.
- Execute waste reduction initiatives.
- Perform root cause failure analysis.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance systems.
- Conduct trials for new products and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with quality, safety, and paper making teams to drive business initiatives.
- Coordinate with vendors providing services in these areas.
- Communicate with operators to develop processes, procedures, and policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering degree program.
- Completion of at least 2 years of your degree program.
- Fluency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- A high level of professionalism.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage details, maintain accuracy, and balance multiple priorities.
- Experience with CAD, Visio, or SharePoint is beneficial but not required.
