About the role#
The Woodlands Operations Team in Northern New Brunswick is seeking a Forestry Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in forestry management. This position involves supporting safety, quality, and productivity objectives while developing practical skills for your future career.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with contractors and operations teams to reach production goals.
- Monitor daily harvesting, transportation, road construction, and road maintenance activities.
- Conduct observations and follow-ups to track productivity and operational quality.
- Participate in forestry quality assessments.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of operational data.
- Complete administrative and operational follow-up tasks.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program in Forestry, Forest Engineering, Forestry Technology, or a Forestry Technician program.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
- A valid driver's license.
- Experience in the forestry industry and bilingualism (French and English) are considered assets.
- Must meet J.D. Irving, Limited selection criteria.
