About the role#
J.D. Irving, Limited is hiring a Chemical Engineering Student for an 8-month co-op position at the Lake Utopia Paper operation. This is a full-time, on-site role starting in the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support and services to the Operations department.
- Deliver process engineering services for improvement projects across the site.
- Analyze data and monitor processes to find ways to improve productivity, quality, and cost.
- Monitor effluent characteristics to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Participate in troubleshooting process, environmental, and operational issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Chemical Engineering degree program with good academic standing.
- A safety-first mindset and the ability to work well in a team.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A long-term interest in pursuing an engineering career.
