    About the role#

    The Chemical Engineering Co-op works within our manufacturing environment to support operational excellence, process optimization, and safety programs. You will work alongside engineers, production supervisors, and operators to analyze mill processes and contribute to projects that improve performance. This role provides hands-on experience in a continuous manufacturing setting.

    What you'll do#

    • Monitor and optimize manufacturing processes by working with engineers and operations staff.
    • Collect and interpret production data to find trends and opportunities for improvement.
    • Support projects focused on increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and lowering costs.
    • Troubleshoot process issues and help implement corrective actions.
    • Conduct laboratory testing and process evaluations.
    • Assist with environmental, sustainability, and energy conservation initiatives.
    • Participate in safety audits, hazard assessments, and root cause investigations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Quality, and Environmental departments.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Chemical Engineering or a related field.
    • Standing as a sophomore, junior, or senior student.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Commitment to safe work practices and awareness of food safety standards.

    Location & details#

    • This is a paid, full-time co-op position.
    • The role is based on-site in either Madawaska, Maine, or Little Falls, New York.
    • We offer rolling start dates.
