About the role#
Irving Tissue is seeking a Reliability Engineering Co-op Student for the Winter 2027 term in Fort Edward, New York. This full-time, on-site position offers students the opportunity to contribute to plant operations while gaining hands-on experience in asset reliability and maintenance engineering.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified equipment installations.
- Assist in developing design specifications, commissioning plans, and equipment acceptance criteria.
- Define, monitor, and refine Asset Maintenance Plans, including preventive maintenance tasks and predictive testing methodologies.
- Analyze asset performance, including utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and remaining useful life.
- Develop engineering solutions to address repetitive failures and issues affecting plant capacity, quality, or costs.
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering degree program, having completed at least 2 years of study.
- Fluency in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- High level of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work in an organized manner, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Experience with CAD, Visio, or database software is considered an asset but is not required.
