About the role#
This co-op position offers engineering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a sawmill production environment. You will work directly with site leadership and operational teams to support mill projects, improve processes, and maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate mill projects by collaborating with contractors and personnel to define scope, planning, and execution.
- Lead specific projects in partnership with sawmill staff and millwrights.
- Work with senior management and site leaders to drive site-wide improvements.
- Champion safety, quality, and operational efficiency on the floor.
- Study sawmill production processes to identify and implement areas for improvement.
- Manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities in a team-oriented environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Electrical, or Computer Engineering program, with plans to return to school.
- Good academic standing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High energy level with thorough attention to detail.
- Self-motivation and a strong desire to improve operational processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong administrative abilities.
