About the role#
Irving Wallboard is seeking a geology student for the Fall 2026 term to support the Gypsum Supply team in Saint John. This role offers exposure to the various stages of mineral exploration and mining, including field work and data management. The pay range for this position is $24.47 to $26.12 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Assist with field mapping and prospecting, including traversing, data collection, and rock sampling.
- Support core logging requirements, including geotechnical logging of drill core and photography.
- Help environmental technicians collect air and water monitoring samples.
- Perform data entry and compilation activities.
- Complete other duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.Sc or B.Eng program in earth sciences, geology, geological engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, physics, or chemistry.
- Completion of at least 2 years of undergraduate study.
- Good academic standing with plans to return to school after the term.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding field work.
- A valid class 5 driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout southern New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
