About the role#
Irving Wallboard is seeking a Geology Student to join the Gypsum Supply team for the Fall 2026 term. This position offers exposure to all stages of the mineral exploration and mining business, from mineral claims to active mining operations. The role is based in Saint John, New Brunswick.
What you'll do#
- Assist with field mapping and prospecting, including traversing, data collection, and rock sampling.
- Support core logging requirements, such as geotechnical logging of drill core and photography.
- Work with environmental technicians to collect air and water monitoring samples.
- Perform data entry and compilation activities.
- Complete other duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.Sc or B.Eng program in earth sciences, geology, geological engineering, or civil engineering.
- Completion of at least 2 years of undergraduate studies.
- Good academic standing with plans to return to school.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding field work.
- A valid class 5 driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout southern New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
- A professional, hardworking approach and a positive attitude.
