About the role#
West Fraser is hiring Forestry Summer Students for the 2027 season. You will work within our Silviculture or Planning teams to gain hands-on experience in the forest industry. Terms range from 4 months to 1 year, depending on your academic schedule. This is a full-time, paid position that requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
Depending on your team, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Accessing sites and selecting seedlings.
- Conducting regeneration and free-growing surveys.
- Participating in planting supervision.
- Implementing operational planning for road construction.
- Ensuring all work adheres to current legislation and land use planning practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Forestry Degree or Forestry Technical Diploma program.
- A valid driver's licence.
- Basic outdoor and wilderness skills.
- A commitment to working safely and maintaining a safe workplace.
- Prior experience in forestry, agriculture, or industrial settings is an asset.
