About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while working toward your pharmacy degree. You will assist with daily operations under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, helping to ensure accurate prescription processing and high-quality patient care.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions following state and federal statutes.
- Prepare prescriptions, affix labels, and report any medication errors.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and monthly quality assurance checks.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and the dispensing area.
- Protect customer privacy and medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees and support other areas of the store as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
- Ability to count, pour, package, and label medications accurately.
- Physical ability to frequently stand and walk throughout a shift.
