About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while working toward your pharmacy degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with daily operations, inventory, and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly service to customers.
- Fill and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare prescriptions and apply labels to containers.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monthly counts.
- Follow security and regulatory procedures.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Protect the confidentiality of customer medical information.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees.
- Support other areas of the store as needed.
- Work as a team member while maintaining a professional appearance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform accurate arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.
- Capability to handle confidential patient and financial information with discretion.
