About the role#
The Patient Relations Liaison Intern supports clinical operations at the Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute. This role involves managing patient documentation, improving communication processes, and coordinating community-focused initiatives. You will work on-site to assist with administrative tasks and special projects that directly impact patient care and support services.
What you'll do#
- Assemble 20 patient packets weekly for clinical support services.
- Create a communication plan to help patients transition from paper surveys to a new digital format.
- Identify and secure a grocery vendor to partner with the PATH (Patient Access to Help) Program to support patients facing financial hardship.
- Research grant opportunities that align with the institute's mission and programs.
- Design a garden planting plan and coordinate volunteer support for maintenance.
- Prepare and deliver a final PowerPoint presentation summarizing your internship experience, learned skills, and professional development.
What you'll need#
- Proof of current enrollment in an accredited college, university, or technical institution, or graduation within the last 12 months.
- Proof of good academic standing, such as unofficial transcripts.
