About the role#
As a Radiology Student Technologist, you will work under the medical supervision of certified radiologists to learn and perform imaging procedures. You will assist the clinical team as needed while gaining experience in a hospital environment. This role focuses on developing your ability to produce diagnostic images that meet established protocols.
What you'll do#
- Perform procedures for the direct results of interpretation under supervision.
- Assist radiologists during various procedures.
- Maintain positive relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Follow established protocols to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Completion of prerequisite courses and active participation in core radiology classes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A professional and business-like appearance.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient and work-related information.
- A current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider card.
Location & details#
- Location: Roper Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina.
- Schedule: This is a part-time position. The shift includes every other weekend from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Some flexibility is available to accommodate school and clinic hours.
- Preference: Candidates with at least one year remaining in their program before graduation are preferred.
