About the role#
Roper St. Francis Healthcare is hiring a Cardiovascular Technology Student to join our team on a part-time, PRN basis. You will work across our locations in Charleston, Summerville, and Mt. Pleasant. In this role, you assist physicians during cardiovascular procedures while under the direct supervision of a preceptor. You will gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while contributing to patient care and procedural workflows.
What you'll do#
- Assist physicians in the performance of all cardiovascular procedures.
- Analyze and interpret collected procedural data.
- Provide effective patient care to individuals of all acuity levels.
- Maintain inventory and ensure appropriate charging for procedures.
- Operate imaging equipment according to safety and industry standards.
- Administer medications and contrast, and start IVs under the direction of a physician or nurse.
- Accurately document information in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programs.
- Ensure all procedures follow established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Actively pursue personal growth and development in your area of study.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program.
- A valid BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced cardiac life support for Cath and EP is preferred.
- Ability to work in an environment that requires wearing protective lead when using X-ray equipment.
- Capacity to perform physical tasks including maneuvering patient weight, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
