About the role#
PCL is looking for an HSE Student to join the Digital Infrastructure district for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site. You will support our safety teams on data center projects while gaining hands-on experience in the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and assist with the implementation of project HSE plans, environmental plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and help conduct project-specific safety training.
- Share safety trends and information with the project team to help create effective action plans.
- Assist in developing and using hazard identification tools.
- Conduct safety inspections and verify that corrective actions are completed.
- Support the team with emergency response planning and monitor site security.
- Review trade documentation and monitor safety compliance for trade contractors.
- Verify that equipment and tool inspections are documented properly.
- Notify stakeholders of incidents and assist with investigations.
- Build and maintain positive professional relationships.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- You are working toward a safety designation.
- Knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presentations and reporting.
- Familiarity with construction processes and terminology.
- An aptitude for learning and adopting new technology.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This role is on-site in Abilene, Texas, and other locations in Texas and Utah.
- The term runs from May to August 2027.
