About the role#
As a Design Student at PCL Construction, you will join the team in Orlando for a full-time summer internship. You will support our design team by refining technical shop drawings and helping revise plans to meet project specifications. This role involves coordinating design requirements and maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll do#
- Refine complex technical shop drawings to support design development.
- Attend team meetings to coordinate design options and project requirements.
- Revise designs and plans based on construction needs, review comments, and changes to design intent.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Model a solution-oriented and profitability-focused culture.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Architecture, Engineering, Design, Construction, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Rhino, or Revit.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Foundational knowledge of technical drawings, 3D modeling, BIM coordination, and constructability.
- Ability to apply design and engineering practices with guidance.
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
