About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to ensure safe, accurate, and prompt prescription fulfillment while developing your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow all company SOPs.
- Manage pharmacy workflow procedures, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service by solving patient problems and showing empathy.
- Offer immunizations, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and contact prescribers to clarify orders or medication changes.
- Mentor pharmacy team members and share best practices.
- Handle inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and processing medication deliveries.
- Educate patients on vaccines, monitor for adverse reactions, and document patient information.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs across different store locations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between pharmacy duties.
- Mathematical reasoning skills to calculate dosages and supply needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with active listening abilities.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods.
- Physical capacity to lift up to 20 lbs, reach overhead, and perform repetitive finger movements.
- Close visual acuity for reading labels and viewing computer terminals.

- Location: Westlake, Texas.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role follows a rolling term.
