About the role#
As a Radiology Student, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. This role focuses on building technical skills and clinical competency through supervised learning across various imaging modalities. You will support patient care by assisting with exams, following safety protocols, and keeping the work environment organized.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations under direct supervision.
- Position patients and select technical factors to obtain diagnostic images.
- Communicate with patients to provide clear instructions and ensure their comfort.
- Follow department protocols for radiation safety, PPE, and infection control.
- Label images and use side markers according to standards.
- Document procedures in the appropriate systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe imaging environment.
- Seek guidance from technologists and clinical instructors to improve your performance.
- Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior when interacting with patients and staff.
- Maintain regular attendance and comply with all hospital policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Up to one year of clinical experience.
- A basic understanding of imaging equipment and radiographic procedures.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and infection prevention.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and apply clinical feedback.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
