About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration within the care team to provide safe and organized support to patients.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and comfort measures.
- Communicate with the care team during handoffs, shift reports, and when reporting changes in patient conditions.
- Develop clinical skills by seeking feedback and applying practices under the guidance of an RN.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment including patient rooms and utility areas.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance for items like glucometers, bladder scanners, and scales.
- Perform hourly rounding and purposeful patient interactions.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Uphold customer service standards for patients and their families.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- Zero to one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- A CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- A Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety for skilled nursing.
