About the role#
This position offers nursing students the opportunity to gain real world acute care experience. You will assist Registered Nurses in providing patient care and focus on achieving high quality outcomes. The role is designed to help you transition into your final year of nursing school while working in a hospital setting.
What you'll do#
- Administer nursing care under the direction of a Professional Registered Nurse.
- Acclimate to the acute care nursing environment.
- Perform nursing activities you have already learned and demonstrated in your nursing curriculum.
- Learn the professional nursing role.
- Collaborate and integrate with the interprofessional team and hospital technology.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, entering your Senior year.
- Completion of at least one full clinical rotation in an acute care setting.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- One letter of recommendation from a faculty member or professional reference.
- Ability to work 36 hours per week with no planned time off.
