About the role#
The Clinical Support Services Intern assists with the daily operations of our medical records and clinical trials departments. You will gain exposure to the administrative side of proton therapy by handling patient documentation, radiology files, and research data. This internship requires a final presentation summarizing your experience, skills developed, and project contributions.
What you'll do#
- Retrieve patient medical records from outside facilities and track patient information.
- Send and receive medical information and radiology discs, ensuring they are scanned and logged into the EMR.
- Maintain the medical records room by cleaning, filing, and organizing physical documents.
- Audit files to confirm paper records are correctly uploaded to the EMR before shredding.
- File and organize physics records and clinical trials data for COMPPARE and PCG.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Create and deliver a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a program of study or graduation within the last 12 months from an accredited college, university, or technical institution.
- Proof of good academic standing and your current class schedule.
- A recent resume or cover letter.
- A copy of your course syllabus if you are seeking academic credit.
