About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer of 2027. You will support environmental projects and programs while gaining hands-on experience in the mining industry. The program is designed for current students and recent graduates looking to develop their technical and analytical skills.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support for environmental projects at your assigned site.
- Install, operate, and maintain equipment used to monitor air, land, and water quality.
- Gather and monitor data using various sampling tools.
- Conduct hazardous waste site inspections and help recommend actions to management to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Manage the labeling of solid waste and hazardous materials.
- Monitor solid waste storage, including drums and reclamation sites.
- Keep up to date with site environmental policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or higher degree program in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Recent graduates who earned their degree within 12 months of the internship start date are also eligible.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and communication.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and communicate safety standards and work instructions in English.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
Location & details#
- The role is based in Phoenix, Arizona, but offers remote and hybrid work options.
- Remote work is available from most U.S. states, excluding California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.
- This position does not provide immigration work visa sponsorship.
