About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship for the 2027 season. You will work on-site in Phoenix, Arizona, supporting our accounting and financial operations. This role is designed for students and recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in the mining industry.
What you'll do#
- Perform accounting and financial activities on accounts and funds.
- Assemble interrelated financial statements.
- Review and verify the recording of expenditures, entries, and postings to general ledgers.
- Reconcile books and bank statements.
- Monitor and develop monthly revenue and expenditure reports for various projects.
- Assist operations personnel and cost coordinators with financial analysis and reporting.
- Interpret financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
- Analyze financial operations and recommend policy or procedure enhancements.
- Review and recommend new or enhanced automated financial statements.
- Prioritize a substantial workload, multiple projects, and specific deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time, accredited four-year university program pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Recent graduates who earned a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field within 12 months prior to the internship start date.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to understand, apply, and communicate work and safety instructions in English.
