About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work closely with engineering staff to support various projects and operations. The role involves a mix of office-based tasks and field work, which may include time in mines or manufacturing plants.
What you'll do#
- Perform tasks such as data entry, updating engineering drawings, and designing small projects.
- Assemble data and assist with problem-solving using engineering fundamentals.
- Use computer programs to solve technical problems.
- Review, investigate, and develop recommendations for engineering projects.
- Assist with specification development, equipment evaluation, and project documentation.
- Join survey or GPS mapping crews as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or higher degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field at an accredited university.
- Recent graduates who earned their degree within 12 months of the internship start date are also eligible.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a team.

- Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
- Modality: On-site.

- Work environment: You may work in offices, mines, or plants, which may involve exposure to varied temperatures, humidity, and mechanical equipment. You must be able to climb stairs, lift up to 30 pounds, and wear required personal protective equipment.
