    About the role#

    This internship supports the Civil Engineering team at Luck Companies. You will work on projects that impact our quarry operations. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly with engineers on site and in the office.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with water management Best Management Practices, earth moving, fill pile design, and construction project management.
    • Support field data collection, surveying, and site evaluations.
    • Manage permit tracking, organize documentation, and handle regulatory correspondence.
    • Maintain project files, inspection reports, and compliance records.
    • Participate in environmental control inspections, such as erosion and sediment control assessments.
    • Document field findings and communicate observations through written reports.
    • Prepare a presentation at the end of the summer to summarize your projects and key learnings.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a 4-year Civil Engineering program with a focus on Environment or Water Resources.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for permit and file management.
    • A willingness to work outdoors in varying site conditions.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and field staff.

    • Location: Manakin Sabot, Virginia.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (June 1, 2027, through the first week of August 2027).
    • This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
