About the role#
The Boscobel Plant summer internship is a 9-week program focused on quarry operations. You will gain hands-on experience in blasting, heavy equipment operation, plant maintenance, quality control, and sales. This role is designed to build core skills in safety, equipment operation, and planning through direct participation in daily site activities.
What you'll do#
- Complete assigned projects with attention to detail.
- Participate in hands-on training for pit and plant activities.
- Assist with equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Follow quality control procedures and perform lab testing.
- Help with sales and dispatch tasks, such as weighing and ticketing haul trucks.
- Keep your work area clean and organized.
- Attend daily safety briefings and identify potential hazards.
- Seek feedback and coaching from your team.
- Give a final presentation at the end of the summer to summarize your learning outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an advanced degree or certificate program related to the mining industry.
- A genuine desire to grow your career within the mining field.
