About the role#
We are looking for a student to join our Radio Architecture and Functions team in Ottawa for a 12 to 16 month term starting in January 2027. You will work on wireless communication technologies, machine learning applications, and signal processing algorithms for next-generation radio systems. This role involves collaborating with teams in Canada and Sweden on algorithm development and data analytics.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement efficient algorithms, including machine learning, for radio products.
- Analyze field data to evaluate product performance in customer networks.
- Create and execute simulation strategies.
- Build prototype software and hardware test beds.
- Run hardware and software tests in a lab environment and collect data.
- Extract relevant content from test results and data logs to perform analysis.
- Collaborate directly with hardware and systems designers.
- Help document requirements and ensure traceability.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving product issues.
- Take part in team reviews for products and processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Wireless Communications, Signal Processing, or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning.
- Programming experience in Python or C/C++.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or scikit-learn.
- Understanding of signal processing fundamentals and wireless communication systems.
- Experience with MATLAB and Linux development environments.
- Familiarity with FPGA, DSP, or embedded systems.
- Experience using lab equipment such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team.
