About the role#
Ericsson is seeking software developer interns to join our Core Network Engineering team in Montreal. You will support the evolution of 5G core network products, focusing on network APIs and cloud-native software development. This role offers exposure to large-scale software development challenges and industry-standard engineering practices.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional software development teams or the Software Architect team.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of cloud-native software within a distributed telecommunication product.
- Build a next-generation end-to-end automation framework for software development and verification.
- Implement proof-of-concepts using emerging technologies.
- Participate in the full software lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and support.
- Utilize AI tools to assist in daily development activities and improve team workflows.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a second-year student or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent program.
- Programming knowledge in Java or Groovy.
- Experience with Linux and version control systems like Git.
- Strong team spirit and the ability to learn new skills independently.
- Ability to challenge ideas constructively.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in both French and English is required.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, container technologies, computer networking, Jenkins, or Spinnaker is an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Montreal, Quebec.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (currently 3 days per week at the St-Laurent office).
- Term: Winter 2027 (starting January 11, 2027).
- Duration: 4 to 8 months.
- This is a paid, full-time internship position.
